U18 Professional Development League Cup
Established for the 2021/22 season, the Professional Development League Cup features 32 teams divided into eight groups of four.
The group winners advance to the knockout stages.
U18 Professional Development League Cup Group Stage
Wigan U18 are drawn in Group D against under-18 teams from Preston North End, Burnley and Sheffield United.

Central League Cup
2024/25 Central League Cup Fixtures announced.
18 teams have entered the competition, divided into four groups:
Groups A and C contain five teams each, while Groups B and D each have four.
In the group stage, Wigan Athletic Reserves will play each of the other three teams in Group B once. The teams are Stoke City Reserves, Stockport Reserves, and Preston North End Reserves.

In the 1st round of the FA Youth Cup, Wigan Athletic have been drawn away to Fleetwood Town.
24th October 2024
Latics are set to visit the Fylde Coast to take on the Cod Army at Highbury Stadium on Friday, November 1.
1st November 2024
The FA Youth Cup journey came to an end for Wigan Athletic under-18s after a first-round loss 1 – 4 away to Fleetwood Town.
4th January 2025
Josh Stones departs Wigan Athletic and joins York City in the National League on a permanent transfer.
6th January 2025
Tobias Brenan has joined the Latics U21 from Oxford United after a successful trial.
18th February 2025
Wigan Athletic U18s made history with a 2-1 victory over Everton U18s in the inaugural match at the newly built Everton Stadium.
The goals were scored by Harrison Rimmer & Cole Simm.

This week, the EFL celebrates Youth Development across all 72 League clubs. Wigan Athletic has a strong track record of developing academy players.
In the 2024/25 season so far, 38% of competitive first team minutes have been played by Academy graduates.
They also have named an Academy graduate in their starting line-up for 128 consecutive matches in all competitions.
1st May 2025
Harrison Rimmer has been named the Michael Millett Heatable Academy Player of the Year. He made history by scoring the first-ever goal at Everton’s Bramley-Moore Dock.
