The league divides teams into North and South groups for the U18s, calling it the U18 Premier League.

U17 and U18 Premier League Cup
In 2017, the Premier League introduced the U18 Premier League Cup and the U16 Premier League Cup, renaming the latter to the U17 Premier League Cup in 2020 for their respective age groups.
The seven group winners, along with the best runner-up determined by total points, goal difference, and then head-to-head record, will progress to the quarterfinals.

U21 Premier League Cup
The Premier League Cup was introduced in the 2013/14 season to enhance competition during the Professional Development Phase.
It added a knockout tournament alongside the regular league schedule. For the 2025/26 season, the format features nine groups.
The top team from each group automatically qualifies for the knockout stage, along with the seven best second-placed teams.

Freddie Turley has been awarded Ireland Football’s Under-19 International Player of the Year. He led the national U19 team as captain in seven matches last season.

Attacker Cameron Wilson has joined Derby on a permanent deal from Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen, following an impressive trial with Danny Maye’s squad.
The 18-year-old is a versatile forward, capable of playing across the front line, primarily on the wings but also in central attacking positions.

19-year-old German midfielder Jamie Wähling is set to join the Rams’ Under-21s squad as a free agent, following his departure from Bundesliga club Hoffenheim’s youth system at the end of last season.
Derby County have signed 19-year-old Scottish goalkeeper Sam Kane, who joins the Rams from Scottish Championship side Queen’s Park.

Derby County U18s booked their place in the Fourth Round of the FA Youth Cup with a 3–0 win over Cambridge United. They will face Manchester United next.

Derby County’s B Team are set to face Mickleover FC in the quarter-final of the 2025/26 Derbyshire Senior Cup, with the tie taking place at the Don Amott Arena on Tuesday 20 January 2026, kicking off at 7.45pm.

He joined the club’s Academy at Under-15 level after spells with Notts County and Nottingham Forest.

Derby County Academy midfielder Owen Eames has committed his future to the club by signing a new three-and-a-half-year deal, keeping the homegrown 19-year-old at Pride Park Stadium until the summer of 2029.

Raymond Offor has joined Derby County Academy from Shelbourne. The 6ft 5” centre-back, who can also play in defensive midfield, made his first-team debut in the FAI Cup in July 2025.
