Academy Competitions For 2024/25
U18 Youth Alliance Cup
The EFL Youth Alliance Cup is a youth football tournament in England, organized by the English Football League (EFL). It features under-18 teams from League One and League Two clubs that compete in the EFL Youth Alliance, the league system for these academies.
The competition follows a format like the EFL Trophy, beginning with a regional group stage before progressing to a national knockout phase.
Designed to foster young talent at lower-tier EFL clubs, the tournament provides a structured competitive environment beyond regular league matches.
In the group stage, Morecambe U18 are drawn in Group 1 against under-18 teams from Blackpool, Bolton Wanderers, Carlisle United, Accrington Stanley and Preston North End.

Central League Cup 2024/25
2024/25 Central League Cup Fixtures announced.
18 teams have entered the competition, divided into four groups:
Groups A and C contain five teams each, while Groups B and D each have four.
In the group stage, Morecambe Reserves will play each of the other four teams in Group A once. The teams are Blackburn Rovers Reserves, Barrow Reserves, Burnley Reserves and Carlisle United Reserves.

In the 1st round of the FA Youth Cup, Morecambe FC have been drawn away at Wrexham.

The FA Youth Cup journey came to an end for Morecambe FC U18’s after a first-round loss 0 – 1 away to Wrexham.
12th November 2024
Academy prospect Nathan Snowball made his debut in the Vertu Trophy group stage match against Carlisle, becoming the youngest player in Shrimps’ history at just 16 years and seven months old.
5th February 2025
Morecambe U15s completed the EFL Floodlit Cup group stage, finishing first in North Group One after five games.
The young Shrimps remained unbeaten, earning a total of 11 points with three wins and two draws.

Nathan Fairclough has been named Morecambe’s First Year Academy Player of the Season, while Adam Fairclough has earned the accolade of Second Year Academy Player of the Season.
