Norwich City Academy Competitions For 2024/25
U17 and U18 Premier League Cup
In 2017, the Premier League introduced the U18 Premier League Cup and the U16 Premier League Cup, renaming the latter to the U17 Premier League Cup in 2020 for their respective age groups.
The seven group winners, along with the best runner-up determined by total points, goal difference, and then head-to-head record, will progress to the quarterfinals.
U17 Premier League Cup Group Stage
Norwich City U17 are drawn in Group B against under-17 teams from West Brom, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham

U18 Premier League Cup Group Stage
Norwich City U18 are drawn in Group A against under-18 teams from Brighton, Manchester City and Derby County.

U21 Premier League Cup
The Premier League Cup was introduced in the 2013/14 season to enhance competition during the Professional Development Phase.
It added a knockout tournament alongside the regular league schedule. For the 2024/25 season, the format features nine groups.
The top team from each group automatically qualifies for the knockout stage, along with the seven best second-placed teams.
Norwich City U21 are drawn in Group A against under 21 teams from Bristol City, Bromley and Exeter City.

Premier League International Cup
The participating teams are split into four groups of eight, each comprising four UK-based Under-21 teams and four invited overseas clubs represented by their development squads.
Each UK team will host all four overseas clubs in their group. The results will determine the standings in each group, with the top two teams advancing to the knockout stages.
Norwich City U21 will face Hertha BSC, FC Nordsjaelland, PSV and AC Sparta Praha in the initial phase of the tournament.
Liverpool, Fulham and Manchester United are the other UK-based teams in their group.

Norwich City academy participate in the Norfolk Hire Senior Cup

The Norwich City U12’s Mina Cup kicks off today at the cutting-edge Avant Training Centre, featuring teams from all over Europe and beyond.
Leeds United Academy won the Mina CUP UK 2024
Liverpool, Manchester United and Fulham are the other UK-based teams in their group.

In the 3rd round of the FA Youth Cup, Norwich City have been drawn at home to Brentford.
22nd November 2024
The FA Youth Cup 3rd round match against Brentford will be held at Carrow Road on Monday, December 9th.

Finlay Corke has signed his first professional contract with Norwich City.
10th December 2024
Norwich City Under-18s progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 4 – 3 win over Brentford at Carrow Road.
13th December 2024
In the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup, Norwich City have been drawn away to AFC Bournemouth.
6th January 2025
Norwich City under-18s will be hosted by Bournemouth in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup at Eastleigh’s Silverlake Stadium on Wednesday 15th January.

Goalkeeper Vicente Reyes has returned from his loan spell with Cambridge United. He played 23 games for the League One side in all competitions.
Ken Aboh has returned from his loan spell with Sky Bet League One side Stevenage.
During his time there, he made three appearances and also featured in the FA Cup and EFL Trophy.

Norwich City have progressed to the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup with a 3-1 victory over AFC Bournemouth.
Cork scored twice, while Sealey added another, setting up a fifth-round clash with either Stoke City or West Bromwich Albion.

Norwich City U18s have been eliminated from the FA Youth Cup after a 4-2 defeat at home against West Bromwich Albion.
Finlay Oligbo and Elliot Josh Myles were the scorers for Norwich.

Jaden Warner has made a permanent move to Sky Bet League Two club Newport County.
1st February 2025
Dylan Jones has signed with Norwich City from Plymouth Parkway.
The 20-year-old forward, a product of Parkway’s youth system, has played for the club in the Southern League Premier Division South.

16-year-old center-back Takudzwa Gwanzuara has recently joined Norwich City from Blackpool, having previously been part of Everton’s setup.

Academy defender Vatan Ozcan has signed his first professional contract with Norwich City, securing his future at the club until 2027.

Academy midfielder Toby Chivers has officially signed his first professional contract with Norwich City.

This week, the EFL celebrates Youth Development across all 72 League clubs. Norwich City has a strong track record of developing academy players.
Last season, academy-developed players at Norwich City accounted for 15.95% of the first team’s total minutes, equating to 7,262 minutes across the campaign.
These players made 116 first-team appearances, including 80 starts. Notably, Finley Welch and Aboh made their senior debuts during the season.

Norwich City has launched a new Academy Alumni programme to offer post-release wellbeing support for young players.
The initiative will also help them explore alternative pathways while fostering a strong network for former academy players.
