Carlisle United Academy Competitions For 2024/25
U17 Professional Development League Cup
The U17 Professional Development League Cup is an English youth football tournament created for players aged 17 and under.

U18 Youth Alliance Cup
The EFL Youth Alliance Cup is a youth football tournament in England, organized by the English Football League (EFL). It features under-18 teams from League One and League Two clubs that compete in the EFL Youth Alliance, the league system for these academies.
The competition follows a format like the EFL Trophy, beginning with a regional group stage before progressing to a national knockout phase.
Designed to foster young talent at lower-tier EFL clubs, the tournament provides a structured competitive environment beyond regular league matches.
In the group stage, Carlisle United are drawn in Group 1 against under-18 teams from Blackpool, Bolton Wanderers, Accrington Stanley, Morecambe and Preston North End.

Central League Cup
2024/25 Central League Cup Fixtures announced.
18 teams have entered the competition, divided into four groups:
Groups A and C contain five teams each, while Groups B and D each have four.
In the group stage, Carlisle United Reserves will play each of the other four teams in Group A once. The teams are Blackburn Rovers Reserves, Barrow Reserves, Burnley Reserves and Morecambe Reserves.

The top two teams from each group will then advance to the quarterfinals.

19th October 2024
In the 1st round of the FA Youth Cup, Carlisle United have been drawn away to Altrincham.
31st October 2024
After beating Altrincham away 4 – 1 in the first round, Carlisle United has secured a place in the second round of the FA Youth Cup.
1st November 2024
Carlisle United U18s have been drawn away to Barnsley in the 2nd round of the FA Youth Cup. Match will be played on Wednesday the 13th of November.

In the 3rd round of the FA Youth Cup, Carlisle have been drawn at home to Plymouth Argyle.
26th November 2024
United’s U18s are set to take on Plymouth Argyle in the third round of the FA Youth Cup at Brunton Park on Tuesday, 10 December.
10th December 2024
The FA Youth Cup journey came to an end for Carlisle United after a third-round loss 2 – 4 (2 – 2 end of normal time) at home to Plymouth Argyle.

Carlisle United have extended offers to four scholars—Sam Hetherington, Dan Hopper, Freddie O’Donoghue, and Thomas Randall—to remain at Brunton Park next season.
A decision on Jake Allan will be made at a later date.
