U18 Youth Alliance Cup

The EFL Youth Alliance Cup is a youth football tournament in England, organized by the English Football League (EFL). It features under-18 teams from League One and League Two clubs that compete in the EFL Youth Alliance, the league system for these academies.

The competition follows a format like the EFL Trophy, beginning with a regional group stage before progressing to a national knockout phase.

Designed to foster young talent at lower-tier EFL clubs, the tournament provides a structured competitive environment beyond regular league matches.

In the group stage, Shrewsbury Town U18 are drawn in Group 2 against under-18 teams from Rochdale, Salford City, Port Vale, Stockport County and Wrexham.

In the 1st round of the FA Youth Cup, Shrewsbury Town have been drawn at home to Coalville Town.

6th November 2024

Following a 9-0 victory over Coalville Town at home in the first round, Shrewsbury Town has advanced to the second round of the FA Youth Cup.

The Shrewsbury Town U18s will face Chesterfield away in their second-round matchup.

19th November 2024

Shrewsbury FA Youth Cup journey ended in the second round with an away defeat to Chesterfield, drawing 2 – 2 in regular time but falling 4 – 2 in the penalty shootout.

Former academy scholar Cam Morris has signed for Australian side Glenorchy Knights following a successful trial.

Tom Bloxham has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Blackpool, with the club holding an option to extend for an additional 12 months.

He previously made over 100 first-team appearances for Shrewsbury Town.

Luca Whitney has been shortlisted by the LFE for the EFL League One Apprentice of the Season awards for 2025.

This award honours exceptional young professionals at EFL clubs who have distinguished themselves both on and off the pitch throughout the 2024/25 season.

Isaac England, a first-year scholar, made his professional debut for his hometown club on Easter Monday in an away match at Sixfields against Northampton Town.

Fellow 18-year-old midfielder Jack Loughran also featured in the game, coming off the bench.

3rd May 2025

Isaac England made his home debut for Shrewsbury Town in EFL League One, coming off the bench late in the second half against Crawley Town.

Shrewsbury Town U17 have claimed the Premier Development League (PDL) Trophy after a 2–0 away victory over Cardiff U17.

The win was sealed by an own goal and a composed finish from Harry Fallon.
