Barnet FC Academy

Barnet FC runs a category 3 academy based in North London. They have a youth development program that nurtures young talent.

The Academy is structured into two phases:

• Youth Development Phase (U15–U16) –
  • The CH Bees U15s compete in the Eastern Junior Alliance.
  • The U16s train twice a week, focusing on tactical and player development, while competing in the Eastern Junior Alliance and county cup competitions.
• Professional Development Phase (U17–U19) –
  • The CH Bees U17–18s train three to four times a week as part of the Professional Development Phase.
  • They compete in the Southern Counties Floodlit Youth League and Eastern Junior Alliance U18 division, as well as the FA Youth Cup and Middlesex County Cup.
  • The U19s, the top tier of the Academy, train full-time and compete in the National League U19 Alliance.

Academy Competitions

Each season, the Academy competes across the following competitions:

• U18 Youth Alliance Cup – an EFL-organised youth tournament for Under-18 teams from League One and League Two clubs competing in the EFL Youth Alliance. It follows a format similar to the EFL Trophy, beginning with a regional group stage before progressing to a national knockout phase.
• FA Youth Cup – the traditional nationwide knockout competition open to academy sides across English football.

2025/26 Season

For the 2025/26 season, Barnet FC joined the EFL Professional Academy system as a Category Four club after securing promotion to League Two from the National League.

The Academy enters the 2025/26 season under Head of the Academy James O’Dowd and Under-18 Coach Gifton Noel-Williams.

2025/26 Tournament Groupings

In the U18 Youth Alliance Cup, Barnet’s Under-18s were drawn at home against MK Dons in the preliminary round, at home against Sutton United in round one, and at home against AFC Wimbledon in round two.

In the FA Youth Cup, the Under-18s were drawn at home against Luton Town in the first round proper, before being drawn at home against Colchester United in the second round proper.

• Barnet Academy defender Aaron Liwali signed his first professional contract with the club.

November 2025

• Barnet’s Under-18s were set to host Colchester United in the FA Youth Cup second round proper on Tuesday, November 18th, with kick-off at 7:30 pm.
• Barnet’s Under-18s’ FA Youth Cup journey came to an end, following their tie at home to Colchester United’s Under-18s.
