U18 Premier League

The league divides teams into North and South groups for the U18s, calling it the U18 Premier League.

U17 and U18 Premier League Cup

In 2017, the Premier League introduced the U18 Premier League Cup and the U16 Premier League Cup, renaming the latter to the U17 Premier League Cup in 2020 for their respective age groups.

The seven group winners, along with the best runner-up determined by total points, goal difference, and then head-to-head record, will progress to the quarterfinals.

U19 UEFA Youth League

As the leading club competition for academy-age footballers worldwide, it serves as a prestigious and vital platform where players can build their reputations and rise to prominence.

When eligible, the Under-19s compete in the UEFA Youth League, which mirrors the UEFA Champions’ League group stage.

UEFA will be introducing a new format from the 2024-25 season.

Vertu Trophy (EFL Trophy)

The Vertu Trophy is a midweek knockout competition that includes clubs from EFL League One and League Two, along with 16 invited teams from Premier League and EFL Championship clubs that have Category One Academies.

The competition is regionalised from the opening stage through to the quarter-finals, featuring eight groups in the northern section and eight in the southern section.

Each group features one Under-21 Premier League side

Liverpool Under-21s have been drawn into Northern Group H, where they will face Burton Albion, Chesterfield and Crewe Alexandra.

Dominic Corness has agreed to join Welsh champions The New Saints FC.

The 22-year-old midfielder will link up with the Oswestry-based club once his contract with Liverpool concludes at the end of June.

Trey Nyoni has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool on his 18th birthday. The deal follows a breakthrough season for the highly rated young midfielder.

18-year-old Kareem Ahmed has signed his first professional deal with Liverpool FC.

Winger Joe Bradshaw has put pen to paper on his first professional contract with Liverpool.

Liverpool have completed the signing of 17-year-old striker Will Wright from Salford City. The highly rated youngster will join up with the Reds’ Under-21s, led by new boss Rob Page.

Forward Trent Kone-Doherty has been named in the Ireland U21 squad for the upcoming matches against England and Andorra.

Liverpool defender Amara Nallo has received a call-up to the England U20 squad ahead of their upcoming match against Japan at Doncaster Rovers next Friday.

Liverpool U18 are set to host Charlton Athletic in the third round of the FA Youth Cup on Saturday, December 13.

The winners will then face an away trip to either Watford or Plymouth Argyle in the next stage.

Liverpool Under-19s have completed the UEFA Youth League group stage with a 16th place finish

Here is the draw procedure for the group of 32.

The young Reds have been drawn to face MŠK Žilina away in the Round of 32, with the tie provisionally scheduled for 3–4 February 2026.

Liverpool U18s’ FA Youth Cup journey came to an end in the third round with a 2-3 defeat at home to U18s Charlton Athletic.

James Norris has completed a permanent move from Liverpool to Shelbourne.

The 22-year-old, who joined Shelbourne on loan in February, leaves the Reds after progressing through the Academy from U9 level and making two senior appearances for the club.

Liverpool’s Under-19s were knocked out of the UEFA Youth League after a 2–1 loss to MŠK Žilina in the round of 32.
