Based in the North West, Manchester United FC runs a category 1 academy
Manchester United Academy U18 have won the Premier League National Final for the 2023/24 season with a 2 – 1 win over Chelsea.
Manchester United Scholars 2024/25
Ten players have received scholarships and will aim to follow the success of last season’s U18 team, who became Premier League National champions.

Academy Competitions For 2024/25
U17 and U18 Premier League Cup
In 2017, the Premier League introduced the U18 Premier League Cup and the U16 Premier League Cup, renaming the latter to the U17 Premier League Cup in 2020 for their respective age groups.
The seven group winners, along with the best runner-up determined by total points, goal difference, and then head-to-head record, will progress to the quarterfinals.

The National League Cup is a 32-team midweek competition, comprising of 16 Under-21s teams participating in Premier League 2 and 16 National League club first teams.

Manchester United U21 are out of the National League Cup competition.
Premier League International Cup
The participating teams are split into four groups of eight, each comprising four UK-based Under-21 teams and four invited overseas clubs represented by their development squads.
Each UK team will host all four overseas clubs in their group. The results will determine the standings in each group, with the top two teams advancing to the knockout stages.
Manchester United will face Hertha BSC, FC Nordsjaelland, PSV and AC Sparta Praha in the initial phase of the tournament.
Liverpool, Fulham and Norwich City are the other UK-based teams in their group.

Chido Obi-Martin has signed his first professional contract with Manchester United after turning 17.
He also found the net against Stoke City today, setting a new record as the all-time leading scorer in Premier League U18 history.

Manchester United under-18s advanced to the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup with a commanding 5-0 victory over Coventry City. They will face Preston North End in the next round.

Manchester United have secured midfielder Jim Thwaites on a long-term contract. The 17-year-old celebrated his birthday earlier this month.
Thwaites has been a standout performer for the Under-18s team this season, making 12 appearances and contributing four goals and two assists to support United’s unbeaten run.

Joe Hugill has returned to Manchester United after spending the first half of the season with the Latics.
During his time at the Brick Community Stadium, Hugill made 18 appearances across all competitions.

FA Youth Cup Fifth Round Draw

Manchester United U18s secured their place in the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup with a 5-2 home victory over Preston North End.
The goals came from Jack Fletcher, Reece Munro, a brace by Chido Obi-Martin, and Amir Ibragimov.

Manchester United U17s overturned a 1-0 deficit to secure a 2-1 victory over Newcastle in the PL Cup quarter-finals.
The goals were scored by Duoka Nkoto and Jim Thwaites.

Manchester United U18s have advanced to the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup with a dominant 5-1 home victory over Chelsea U18s. Chido Obi-Martin netted a hat-trick, while James Scanlon added a brace.
The young Reds will take on Arsenal away in the FA Youth Cup quarter-finals.

Harry Amass made his Manchester United debut on Sunday night against Leicester City, coming on as a second-half substitute.
The former Watford youngster had been named in the matchday squad 16 times before finally making his first appearance.

Manchester United under-18s will play Aston Villa under-18s in the semi-final of the FA Youth Cup at Villa Park on Monday 31st March at Villa Park.

United Under-18s have exited the FA Youth Cup after a 3-1 defeat on penalties to Aston Villa in the semi-finals.
The match ended 1-1 in normal time, with James Scanlon scoring for Manchester United.
